Hank Snow Signed Cheque. This genuine cheque forms part of a collection of nine signed cheques, dated 1955, from the estate of RCA recording artist Hank Snow.

1955 was key year for Hank Snow, having had tremendous success prior in record sales on RCA, but as well being involved in the development of a young Elvis Presley. Historical documents discovered at Hank Snow’s Rainbow Ranch in 2007 showed Hank Snow was greatly involved in the development of Elvis, more than he was credited for; those same documents were influential in Baz Luhrmann’s film “Elvis.” Snow bought the ranch home in Madison, Tennessee in 1951 shortly after he experienced success with two songs, “I’ve Been Everywhere” and “I’m Movin’ On.” He named the home ‘Rainbow Ranch‘ after his band, which was known as the “Rainbow Ranch Boys”.
A regular at the Grand Ole Opry, in 1954 Snow persuaded the directors to allow a young Elvis Presley to appear on stage. Snow used Presley as his opening act and introduced him to Colonel Tom Parker. In August 1955, Snow and Parker formed the management team, Hank Snow Attractions. This partnership signed a management contract with Presley but before long, Snow was out and Parker had full control over the rock singer’s career.
This genuine hand signed cheque dates from this pivotal period in the career of Elvis Presley.
