Chuck Connors (born Kevin Joseph Aloysius Connors) was an American actor, writer, and professional athlete. He was born on April 10, 1921, in Brooklyn, New York City, USA. His parents were Irish Catholic immigrants from Canada. During World War II, he served as a tank-warfare instructor in the US Army.
Connors is best known for his role as Lucas McCain in the TV series The Rifleman (1958-1963). He appeared in over 40 films throughout his career, including Soylent Green (1973) and Airplane II: The Sequel (1982).
He was married five times and had four children. Connors died on November 10, 1992, at the age of 71 from lung cancer.
