Agnetha Fältskog is a Swedish singer, songwriter, and former member of the pop group ABBA. She was born on April 5, 1950, in Jönköping, Sweden. Fältskog began her music career in 1967, when she joined the Swedish band, The Cambers. In 1968, she released her debut album, “Agnetha Fältskog,” which was a commercial success in Sweden.

Fältskog rose to international fame in the 1970s as a member of ABBA, one of the best-selling music acts in history. The group was formed in 1972 and consisted of Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. ABBA’s music was known for its catchy melodies, harmonies, and upbeat rhythms. Fältskog’s distinctive voice and stage presence helped make ABBA one of the most popular bands of the era.

After ABBA disbanded in 1982, Fältskog continued to pursue a solo career. She released several albums throughout the 1980s, including “Wrap Your Arms Around Me” (1983) and “I Stand Alone” (1987) 1. In 1986, she had a hit single with “The Heat Is On,” which reached number one in Sweden and Norway.

Fältskog has been married twice. Her first marriage was to Björn Ulvaeus, a fellow member of ABBA. They were married from 1971 to 1980 and have two children together, Linda and Peter. Fältskog’s second marriage was to surgeon Tomas Sonnenfeld. They were married from 1990 to 1993.

Fältskog has been known for her reclusive nature and has largely avoided the public eye since the 1990s. However, she has occasionally made public appearances, such as performing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 2008. In 2013, she released a new album, “A,” which was her first album of new material in nine years.

Fältskog has been recognized for her contributions to music. In 1988, she was awarded the Swedish Royal Medal “Litteris et Artibus” for her outstanding contributions to Swedish culture. In 2004, she was inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame.
