Robin Gibb has hand signed in blue ink the front cover of the gatefold sleeve LP “Staying Alive” original motion picture soundtrack. Staying Alive: The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the soundtrack to the film Staying Alive. It was released in 1983 and is mainly performed by the Bee Gees. Five new Bee Gees songs took up the first side with side two featuring various artists performing songs mostly written by Frank Stallone, brother of the film’s director Sylvester. The soundtrack reached #14 in the UK, #6 in the United States, #1 in Switzerland, and #2 in Italy andJapan, and sold 4.5 million copies worldwide and this LP was the their final songs and soundtrack to the RSO label. RSO publicly announced on September 30 that John Travolta would star in a sequel to Saturday Night Fever to be directed by Sylvester Stallone and with new music by the Bee Gees.
