David Tennant: A Scottish Star Takes the World by Storm

Born David John McDonald on April 18th, 1971, in Bathgate, Scotland, David Tennant’s passion for acting emerged early. Inspired by his love for Doctor Who, a mere three-year-old David declared his ambition to play the Time Lord. This childhood dream would become a defining moment in his remarkable career.

Following his graduation from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, David, now using his stage name, began his professional journey in the mid-1990s. However, destiny had a different plan in store. In 2005, David’s childhood dream materialized when he was announced as the tenth Doctor in the iconic sci-fi series “Doctor Who” (2005-2010). Tennant delivered powerful performances as Barty Crouch Jr. in the “Harry Potter” franchise (2005-2011) and Alessandro Volta in the historical drama “Volcano” (2014). He further established himself as a force to be reckoned with in American television with his portrayal of Kilgrave in the Marvel series “Jessica Jones” (2015-2019).
