This autograph was obtained in person by Cricket Coulter, best known to Elvis fans as the girl in That’s The Way It Is. It was signed one day before Elvis Presley passed away.

Cricket was a super fan who followed Elvis around from California, Vegas & Memphis. She knew Elvis for 11 years. Cricket was president of “Elvis — He Touched Me,” a fan club she’d started at age 10. Wherever Elvis was, so was Cricket. She had an apartment near his home in California, along with a place across the street from his Graceland mansion in Memphis.

“I followed him for years,” she says, “and that was OK with Elvis. I was more than just a fan. We became friends.”

Cricket wrote a book about her memories, “Elvis’ Real Gold: The Spirit of his Fans.” A signed copy of the book is included in this sale, together with Cricket’s interview with The Circle G Foundation.

In early August of 1977 Elvis was in Memphis, enjoying spending time with Lisa and having fun. On several occasions he stopped at the gates and signed autographs and let fans take pictures. 

On August 7th, 14th and 15th I got several autographs from him each day. The enclosed is one of those autographs. He signed them for me personally. He would usually do this for me each time and I would send out an autograph to each person who joined the fa club. I recently came across some old fan club boxes in which I found a nice stash of autographs, photos and othe club materials. I hope you enjoy this Elvis autograph that I have made available to the fans.
