‘The Memphis Lullaby’ play script paints an intimate portrait of an artist in reflection – Elvis Aaron Presley in his words. A biographical play told in five acts using monologue, music and film which commemorates his life and legacy. The play is based on the premise that Elvis expressed a desire to write a book.

It is 10 August 1977, Elvis Presley sits in his living room at Graceland. He has decided it is time to write his memoirs and intends to call the book, ‘Through My Eyes by Elvis Aaron Presley’. Through monologue with musical interludes, he reflects on his life, from humble beginnings in Tupelo, Mississippi, through his rise to stardom and how he became the man the world call ‘The King.’

The story imagines Elvis as he reminisces, recalls anecdotes and touches the truth in his own words, about the man, the myths and the music. The script is based on transcribes from preserved recordings of radio interviews, press conferences, concerts, and from his handwritten notes. As we walk with Elvis on his nostalgic journey we glimpse the man behind the image.

The final acts use words and visual art to eulogize the artist and the legacy. The play draws on the hypothesis that Elvis worried he would not be remembered. Act 4 is the documentary, ‘Elvis, How Great Thou Art, A Portrait of the Artist’ which paints the truth of his artistry to celebrate the paradox – that, over three decades after his passing, his spirit still lives today through his musical, cultural and historical legacy into the 21st century.

In recent years’ Russian authorities have increasingly tightened the regulations around shipping to their country. In 2016 a temporary ban on private individuals importing non-document shipments to other private individuals was in effect, with no definite end date given. In less formal terms, this means that if you want to buy a signed record from us and you live in St Petersburg, you need to have it sent to a business where you can collect it.

If you aren't able to collect your order, businesses in Russia are free to ship to other businesses, or private individuals, although the latter may involve extra paperwork. For businesses sending to private individuals, no tax or duties will be applied to shipments up to a value of EUR €1,000, or totaling 31kg per calendar month, anything above this will have duties and taxes applied. For all other shipments there is no import duty for packages below EUR €200 in value.
