“Dirrty” is a song recorded by American recording artist Christina Aguilera, featuring rapper Redman. The song was written by Aguilera, Redman,Jasper Cameron, Balewa Muhammad, and Dana Stinson and was produced by Rockwilder and Aguilera. It was released on September 16, 2002 as the lead single from the Aguilera’s fourth studio album, Stripped (2002). Following the release of the self-titled debut album in 1999, Aguilera wanted to produce a serious “down and dirty” song to announce her comeback and new public image. “Dirrty” is an R&B track with elements of dance and hip hop which talks about sexual activities.

Upon its release, “Dirrty” received mixed reviews from music critics. Some considered it as a bad song and found that Aguilera’s vocal range on the song was too narrow, while others praised it as one of the standout tracks on Stripped. The song was nominated a Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals at the 2003 ceremony. Commercially, “Dirrty” was a failure in the US, peaking at number 48 on the Billboard Hot 100. Elsewhere, the single was a top five hit, reaching the top ten in most regions and charting atop the chart in Ireland and the UK.

An accompanying music video for “Dirrty” was directed by David LaChapelle. It depicted various sexual fetishes, from mud wrestling to sthenolagnia to eliminate the “teenybopper” and “girl next door” image she had accumulated from her previous works. Her provocative image generated controversy, also sparking protests in Thailand. The clip was honored to be one of the sexiest music videos of all time by celebrities, including MTV. Aguilera performed “Dirrty” on a number of shows, including her three major concert tours: Justified & Stripped Tour (2003), Stripped World Tour (2003) andBack to Basics Tour (2006–07).
