About the artist:
Joe’s Art is all about quality first…everything else is second. By combining his drawing and painting skills he has created a fascinating and compelling style all his own and has brought the art of portraits to an entirely new level. Perhaps it is Joe’s love of pop culture that has enabled him to capture rock icons and sports heroes so brilliantly, or maybe it’s simply his keen eye and sense of perspective. Ask Joe where the power comes from in his images, and he’ll tell you, “I want to give the viewer of my work the best seat in the house.”
What is it about Joe Petruccio that makes him so special? As Jerry Shilling, Elvis’ best friend said: “Joe has a unique ability to capture the essence of an individual like no other artist today.” Many people say when you put a Joe Petruccio piece on your wall, the wall becomes alive.
Joe’s accolades are endless. He was the first and continues to be an approved artist for Elvis Presley Enterprises. In addition, he is also an approved artist for Muhammad Ali Enterprises, LLC and both Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods gave their seal of approval on hand-signed limited editions created from his original artwork, which resulted in his first officially licensed Upper Deck Authenticated pieces.
He was chosen by MGM Studios and Sylvester Stallone to create artwork to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of “Rocky.” In addition, Joe has created a fine art line featuring Stallone’s Rambo character. Past accomplishments include being chosen as an approved artist for the Rock n’ Roll Fantasy Camp, where his sheet music portraits were added to the collections of more than 100 of the biggest rock stars around, including Slash, Joe Walsh, Brett Michaels, Levon Helm, Brian Wilson and others.
As the official artist of Hard Rock Park, his artwork was used for the unveiling of Led Zeppelin: The Ride. He also presented artwork to both the Moody Blues and Eagles during the grand opening of the park.
Joe has also designed a New York Mets yearbook cover, is credited with designing the New York Mets racing stripe uniform in 1986 and overseeing the Mets “Magic is Back” campaign.
