Born on October 9th 1940, John Lennon was a famed English singer and songwriter. He was an international sensation from being a co-founder of the band The Beatles with Paul McCartney. John’s solo album, 1971’s Imagine, peaked at No. 3 on Rolling Stone magazine’s “All-Time Best Songs” list. Double Fantasy, his best-selling solo album with three million shipments in the US won him the 1981 Grammy Award for Album of the Year. He was awarded the BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music the following year.
